Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Newark NY

I gave 4 stars for The room because it was ok for what I needed. For being brand new, yes, it was clean and what you would expect. Literally didn't expect an ice machine right outside my door. The TV signal was awful. So awful, i ended up just using my phone to cast however that worked for 1 out of 3 nights. So I didnt even us the tv anymore due to poor signaling. The service 3 stars, Upon checking in, the system was allegedly not working but they were able to check me in but my key didn't work but it worked for the room next to it.. weird. Had to walk back down stair to get it fixed. Again, I get it. it was fixed, I went on my way to my room. It was odd, every time I left or came back to the hotel, there was never any front desk staff at the desk. ever. I came back late at night and notice no one tending the desk.. maybe they were in the back office but coming back a few times a day and night and no one ever there was concerning. I was then woken up in the middle of the night to some guest literally screaming at each other and slamming doors in the hotel. Obviously they lacked self awareness however it was not appropriate and just trashy. The location was 5 star due to it being close to where I needed to be for the entire weekend.

This is an appealing little hotel with modern rooms in the middle of nowhere. There's a milk store (yes, really) across the street, and that's pretty much it. Even so, it would be worth it to detour to stay here because the rooms are SO MUCH nicer than at a sad Days Inn or Quality Inn.

We stayed at this location for four nights. We were very happy with the cleanliness the service the comfort of the beds. The coffee was very good as well. The only suggestion I have is that they put an extra chair in the room one chair was not enough for us. I have a daughter with down syndrome and she likes to sit and work on her tablet. The window seat was nice to look at but highly impractical for sitting. Other than that the hotel was very nice

Relatively new hotel..Rooms were clean and met our needs. Was pleasantly surprised by the nice large shower stall. Staff is new and still getting the swing of things (computer system). The breakfast was fine for our two mornings.

Hotel is fairly new. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Fairly quiet in the room except for kid's running in the hall. Not the hotels fault. Only downside was breakfast. 6-10 on Sunday, came down at 830 and it needed to be stocked, pretty much no food except for waffle batter, but no staff to be found.

Awesome staff here in newark! All the desk clerks are friendly and helpful. Always breeze through check in. in my eyes is the housekeeping staff! Deserve the most praise. Room is always immaculate. Plus they are always friendly and helpful too.

The rooms were clean and spacious. Bed comfortable. I have two complaints. The first is that housekeeping never removed the used towels from the previous guests. Since the bag with used towels was on the hook on the back of the bathroom door, I did not notice this until nighttime. The second issue was that the shower doors did not work properly, as the one sliding door would not stay closed unless it was held there. This should have been noticed by the housekeeping staff. Since housekeeping receives at least NYS's $15.50/hour minimum wage, I would expect these details to have been caught.

This hotel was very clean. Staff were super friendly. Nice touches like snacks for the doggos. Fresh fruit available in lobby. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was nice. Best hotel stay we have had in a long time. Thank you.
